List of Best Fiction Books That I Have Ever Read

I am reading quite a bit nowadays so I thought why not keep an online diary of sorts. A record of best fiction books that I have read. This will be useful for those who are thinking of buying the same book.

Be warned that anything which is too deep or philosophical will not be included here! This is a list of fictional stories that I truly enjoyed and which proved easy to digest for my already overloaded brain!

A beautiful story of a young girl and boy falling in love. They are poles apart -- the girl is quiet and bookish whereas the guy is almost always upto no good. It's not love at first sight, rather affection for each other grows in their hearts over time. By the end of the book I had tears in my eyes!

I am not much of a fan of mushy love stories but this one isn't too out there which makes this book the perfect fictional love story for me.

This is a story from India. A story of a young couple - Krish and Ananya who were classmates at the IIM (The Indian Institute of Management).

It's a completely hilarious take on Indian marriages especially if the people in question are from two different states. The completely different customs followed by each family make it difficult for the young lovers to adapt to and the writer shows this off with apt humor and cheekiness. If you're looking for a light read, this is definitely the one!

Easily, one of the best books I have ever read. If you haven't read this book, I highly recommend that you do - right NOW!

It's a story of two Afghan women whose path intercross due to the most unfortunate of events. They become each other's support system which leads to one of the most heart warming stories that I have ever read. After reading the book, rest assured you will feel happy about living such a comfortable and good life. This is the first book I have read of Khaled's and I must say I am genuinely impressed. The story just flows without any unwanted dragging and the few Urdu words he has used here and there just adds more beauty to the book. Loved it!

I know this isn't exactly a fiction but I couldn't skip it because it's that good! Paulo tells us short stories that are inspirational and motivational. Stories where you will nod your head to in agreement. Like the book itself mentions, the stories are sometimes serious, sometimes humorous but always profound!

You will totally enjoy this book if you're into motivational, inspiring stories.

I have to admit I took some time to complete this book. It's an interesting book, very unique.

Fountainhead is the story of a young man Roark who fights against all odds to establish his dreams even though they are not exactly what can be considered as acceptable by society norms. He's different, he's one of a kind and he knows it. Makes you believe that no matter how tough your ambitions are, if you have enough faith in yourself you can make them come true eventually. A passionate, intense love story flourishes in the background which makes the story further interesting.

The first book of Khaled Hosseini is a must read! It has a disturbing theme, so I doubt those people who like their books to be light and fun would enjoy this book much.

The Kite Runner is about two friends Amir and Hassan living in Afghanistan. One of them is unconditionally loyal to the other. Hassan considers Amir as his best friend, but does Amir return his affection and loyalty? During a time of need, Amir abandons his friend completely which haunts him anywhere and everywhere he goes until an old uncle who knows the truth summons him to Pakistan and offers him a chance to be "good again".

An entertaining read that is sure to ache your heart and warm your soul. After reading Khaled's books any other book would seem bland for a while.
